Vice Speaker Telena C. Nelson looks forward to working with the Guam Department of Education through their budgetary challenges for fiscal year 2019 and is reviewing their fiscal 2020 budget proposal of $343 million.
The Committee on Education, Air Transportation, and Statistics, Research, and Planning convened a joint informational hearing with the Committee on General Government Operations, Appropriations, and Housing on Wednesday at the Guam Congress Building.
“There are still lingering questions regarding GDOE’s proposal,” said Vice Speaker Telena C. Nelson. “I’m confident our inquiries will be answered and look forward to working with Superintendent Fernandez on meeting the needs of our various schools. Together, we will generate a working budget that benefits all our students, teachers and schools.”
